We have a heartwarming story that we would like to share ….
Tara, our care worker, was out working in the community when she spotted the Pigeon (affectionately named Smoking Pam by Tara due to the rather strong smell of cigarettes emanating from the bird?!) showing obvious signs of distress, and looked to be injured. Tara carefully placed Pam in a box, very kindly donated by the local shop keeper, and took the injured party to the emergency vet … all this after her visits had finished, so volunteered her own time to ensure Pam got the attention she needed!
After checking out Pam, it was established that she had in fact been shot … sad times!
Tara being a natural animal lover, enquired as to the possibility of keeping Pam, once healed. Unfortunately she was tagged, and the vet has a responsibility to see the animal returned to its rightful owner. Pam is now recovering at the vets and will be fine given time.
This is another example of the thoughtfulness of our staff, and Tara has this in abundance!
From all at Broomfield Care, thank you and well done Tara
