Mrs M, Huccelcote, Gloucester.

We have been supporting Mrs M since May 2015.  Mrs M was a nurse in the local area for many years, before moving into a supported living complex after being widowed.  It wasn’t long before Mrs M recognised that she was struggling with her morning routine, due to arthritis and needed a little support.  Mrs M was also awaiting a shoulder replacement operation, and felt that it would be better to be proactive and get a small care package set up and in place prior to this taking place. This was of great benefit to both the carers and to Mrs M,  as we were able to establish solid relationships and routines prior to the operation, so that when Mrs M was discharged from hospital, we could assist her to fully meet all of her needs.

The operation was a complete success, and Broomfield Care was able to help her on her road to recovery. Mrs M’s care plan has changed, due to the need for extra support, but we are so pleased that we have been able to meet her additional needs, and look forward to supporting her going forward. Mrs M’s biggest desire is to remain independent and to continue living in her lovely flat in Hucclecote, Gloucester.

Mrs M added –  “I am completely satisfied with the care that Broomfield carers provide. I have not had to make any complaints at all and get on really well with all the staff I have had contact with. They are efficient and friendly and nothing is too much trouble. I would not hesitate to recommend them. Every day I look forward to the visit.” –  Mrs M openly admits that she wouldn’t manage without the support and can’t imagine life without us.

Vicky Hall explained –  “Mrs M, had exactly the right idea. Sometimes families leave sourcing a care package to the last minute.  We often receive calls from families needing emergency care, when things have got to crisis point, and it may not be appropriate for that loved one to live safely at home. Our advice to any family, person, friend or neighbour, is to have a conversation about establishing a care package before it gets to this stage.”
