Another month over, which means another Broomfield Care newsletter! We hope you’re all doing well. We’ve got lots to share with you this month, and of course, our latest Extra Mile Award winner!

First, we are proud to present our latest award, Homecare provider of the year at the Innovation and Excellence Awards (presented by Corporate LiveWire).
We are all so proud to have been chosen for this award and greatly appreciate the feedback given by the judges- here’s a snippet of what they had to say:

The judging panel praised the range of specialist homecare solutions offered by the company, who consistently offers its team the opportunity to upskill and improve their knowledge. Broomfield Care’s ability to create tailored care plans ensures it can develop a strategy that suits client’s with almost any condition, disability, or daily need.
🍬Charity Sweets and The Office Update 🏢
We have also been jazzing the office up in the last few months- it finally feels more homey and we’re only just getting started!
In addition, we have a new addition to the kitchen- a sweet box for Teenage Cancer Trust. All the treats in the box are £1.20 and will be refilled regularly. So, if you’re in the area, you’re more than happy to pop in for a cuppa and, get yourself some sweets!

📄Report- Digitally Enabled Care In The Community
We also thought it would be good to share some information about a recent study into the digital aspects of care and how desperate change is needed.
To summarise, the digital world behind care, both private services and the NHS, is tedious and outdated, further worsening the likes of staff productivity and patient care. When changes are implemented, they mainly benefit hospitals, even though community care needs improvements too. If community care was improved this could help take the pressure off our over-stretched hospital care, as individual’s conditions could be managed far earlier on.
However, the current use of technology is disjointed, leaving staff and patients frustrated. For example, patients trying to access their health records have to use several different apps to piece together their care. Meanwhile, staff are struggling with poor quality laptops and computers, which disrupt their workflow.

At Broomfield Care, we are proud to be contributing to the digital push of care as this helps not only our staff work more efficiently, but helps our clients and their families have access to all the details they could possibly need to help monitor their health and maintain their independence.

As much engagement as possible is very beneficial to the company as it helps boost our online presence and expand our reach across Gloucestershire- our goal is to not only connect far better with those currently a part of the Broomfield Care family, but potential service users and support workers too.

Passed with flying colours! 👩🎓🌈
Our wonderful Jess has recently completed her BTEC in Education and Training, and we couldn’t be more proud! Jess has developed her understanding in “Roles, responsibilities, and relationships + using inclusive teaching and learning approaches + assessments in Education and Training”.
Jess goes above and beyond when it comes to training our staff, and we always receive positive feedback after training sessions from our staff- here are a few comments left recently:
“Jess was a very good instructor- she answered all our questions and was enthusiastic about her work.”
“Jess is an amazing trainer, and nothing is too much trouble for her to answer or to go over things we are unsure about. She has a good sense of humour to which put everyone at ease.”
“Jess is very helpful and joyful.”
“Jess made everything very clear and with Charlotte’s input too great team, great training session.”

✨The Extra Mile Award:
The July Extra Mile Award goes to our wonderful Deputy Manager Louise!
Louise has been working at Broomfield Care for two years now, and she’s absolute star, who is always willing to go the extra mile, showing great compassion towards our clients, and always doing extra hours to help us out.
Charlotte said, “Lou has contributed amazingly to gain a positive outcome for one of our service users this month- she has improved safety in medication administration, built a great relationship with the client’s family and also organised a meeting with another health care professional, and in turn action further involvement from her GP surgery. All to make sure a service user’s wished of staying at home are kept and maintained…
Louise has shown here how we at Broomfield Care always work in the best interest of our clients and their family members.
Well done Louise- we are so grateful for all the work you do and you are truly an invaluable member of the team!”
