Another busy month over, which means another Broomfield Care Newsletter! This is our final newsletter of the year, which is why it’s been published a little later than usual, but we’ve still got plenty of updates to share about our staff and clients!
Business of the Year 2024 🏆
⭐We want to say a huge thank you to everyone who took the time to vote for us- without your support, we wouldn’t have been able to win such an amazing award! ⭐
Since Broomfield Care’s establishment over 15 years ago, we have grown so much, and as a result have been able to help support hundreds of families across Gloucester- we want to thank everyone who has helped support us over the last decade and a half in our mission to provide outstanding care for the community of Gloucester.
Work Christmas Party 🎄
Thank you to everyone who attended our Christmas Party on Saturday- we hope you all had a lovely time together!
Christmas Raffle ❄️
Also, we are hosting a Christmas raffle again this year, to raise funds for 4Louis. By participating, you’ll be supporting a wonderful charity “that works across the country to support anyone affected by miscarriage, stillbirth and the death of a baby or child.”
Each raffle ticket costs £2 and all profits go towards 4Louis. ✨
✨If you would like a raffle ticket, pop into the office or let a member of the team know.
‼️ Pension Credit and Financial Support:
We also want to make everyone aware of the various forms of financial support people of State Pension age (66+) may be eligible for.
You have to apply for pension credit by 21st December to qualify for a 2024-2025 winter fuel payment!
As you will be aware, the Winter Fuel Payment has become means tested and one of the significant indicators of whether you are still eligible is if you are on Pension Credit. So, if you think yourself or a loved one may be eligible for the latter, it is imperative that you check and apply. It is estimated that up to 880,000 households are missing out on Pension Credit, which is worth on average £3,900 per year, as well as additional benefits like help with paying Council Tax and a free TV licence.
In addition to pension credit, you may be eligible for Cold Weather Payments and/or the Warm Home Discount Scheme. You can find all the information about these schemes on the Gov.uk website.
Alternatively, you could get in contact with Age UK, who have their own scheme, called the ‘Warm Homes Programme‘ in which you can have a free one-to-one session with a member of their team to discuss all the different schemes available and how to apply. As mentioned on their website, “In 2023/24, our benefit entitlement sessions identified over £59 million of unclaimed benefits. For each older person who received support through the Warm Homes programme, that was an average of £4,200 per year.”
💻Social Media:
We also want to highlight that we are trying to be more active on social media! We are currently on Facebook, Instagram, and even TikTok!
As much engagement as possible is very beneficial to the company as it helps boost our online presence and expand our reach across Gloucestershire- our goal is to not only connect far better with those currently a part of the Broomfield Care family, but potential service users and support workers too.

The Extra Mile Award Winner 🌟
As it’s the last newsletter of the month, we’ve decided to announce our last two extra mile winners at the same time so…
The Extra Mile winner for November is… Sharon!
Sharon is a a member of the management team, and has been working at Broomfield Care for almost 12 years now, and so, has been involved in caring for hundreds of families across Gloucestershire, across the various roles and responsibilities she’s had over the years.
She is a firm favourite among our clients, and is caring and compassionate- she is always looking out for others, and making sure we’re all doing alright.

And the Final winner of the year is… Joy!
Joy is Broomfield Care’s Bookkeeper and is one of our hardest workers, always grafting behind the scenes to keep our finances in check, books up to date, and keeping the company running smoothly. She helps keep us all grounded with her wisdom and advice, especially Vicky and the management team with some of their outlandish schemes!
