Previous work experience – I have had several jobs. I have set up and run and handmade soap and cosmetic business (5 years), new EU regs forced me to close down. (too expensive to continue) I have worked in a boarding school as a house matron, looking after pupils day to day needs in between lessons. I have worked at an equine vets (horses!), it was a very interesting, sometimes emotional place to work. I have worked in a plant nursery, learned a lot of latin names … mostly forgotten now! I have set up and run a trekking centre for a year, bought 6 ponies, took people out on rides (am qualified to teach riding) for the summer. Looking back, can’t believe I had the nerve!
What do I enjoy about the job:
I enjoy meeting people and making a difference to their day. Company and practical help, it makes you feel good!
I am fairly practical and friendly. I like a good chat so I think a good combination for the job.
The service users are a great bunch, it’s always great to catch up and learn a thing or two … years of wisdom to share!
A bit about me!
My past times include painting, which I have done forever. I paint regularly and have been very lucky to sell my work over the years. I currently have paintings in Kendrick St Gallery in Stroud. I also have a facebook art page, sharonwhiteart.
I also am learning to write, I would like to one day publish a book, don’t ask what about, I haven’t decided yet!
I also love gardening. I have always loved to grow veggies and have a love for beautiful flowers.
I am also interested in ‘alternative’ or natural health. I am also very interested in how the world really works … learning that many conspiracy theories are maybe closer to the truth than people think!
Broomfield Care say…
Sharon has been with us for nearly 6 months now. Sharon works solely at the weekends at the moment. This offers great continuity for those we support, Sharon tends to have her ‘regulars’ that are very fond her of. Sharon has such a kind and gentle nature, she is a pleasure to work with and have in the team. It feels that she has always been here. Well done Sharon, keep up the good work.
