Broomfield Care’s January 2025 Newsletter

Hello Everyone! 👋

It’s our first newsletter of the new year! We hope your January hasn’t been too bad, despite the cold weather and the rain. Read on to find out what we’ve been up to so far this year!

Staff Training Session on Dementia 🧠

Ranging from understanding what the condition is and how it affects an individual’s everyday life, to discussions about how we can help people with dementia stay safe and comfortable at home, our staff had an informative and engaging training session, presented by the wonderful Jess!

Thank you to everyone who attended our training session in the office last week, all about dementia- we hope you found it interesting!

A Message from Charlotte (repost) ❄️

We just wanted to reiterate Charlotte’s message from a few months ago, surrounding mask wearing as there’s been a massive spike in respiratory illnesses so far this year!

As the heating goes on and colds/viruses rear their heads, we would like to keep you all as safe as possible.

Whilst we want to keep people safe we also do understand that since relaxing our mask wearing policy, people have enjoyed seeing a smile every day from our staff and to reinstate this as mandatory in every visit of ours isn’t something I’m particularly fond of!

However, I would like to encourage all staff and any of our service users should they wish to, to wear a mask if they feel unwell or under the weather; all staff have a supply with them and we have plenty of PPE supplies in office to support this during the winter months, and if anyone has any particular desire/request for this to be mandatory in their visits – please do get in touch with the office and we will make this happen.

Wishing everyone all the best and good health!

💻Social Media:

As much engagement as possible is very beneficial to the company as it helps boost our online presence and expand our reach across Gloucestershire- our goal is to not only connect far better with those currently a part of the Broomfield Care family, but potential service users and support workers too.

So please could you do us a favour and share our posts when you see them, including this Newsletter!

Rosie from Broomfield Care Homecare services gloucester. A new member to the care team

‘I began my career in care in 2017, aged 19 and over the years, I have worked for a few different companies…

After 7 and a half years of working in homes, I decided to try something new. Broomfield Care was recommended to me, so I had a look at their website and Facebook page. Within a week, I had a new job! I have already met a lot of amazing carers, and amazing service users at Broomfield. I look forward to meeting more! The staff at Broomfield have been absolutely fantastic, everyone has helped me settle in well, and I already feel like I’m part of a great team.’

Our first Extra Mile award winner for 2025 is… Janet!

We’ve chosen Janet as our January winner for the extra mile award, as she is a very reliable worker and has been very helpful lately! We have received some positive feedback from our clients about Janet recently, she’s picked up extra calls to help us out, and has done really well in reassuring and assisting some of our clients that can be a bit reluctant to receiving care.

Well done Janet!
